בשהם פועלת מערכת חינוך רצופה, מגיל המעון ועד סיום כתה י"ב, ובה מעונות יום, גני ילדים, בתי ספר יסודיים ועל יסודיים, במסגרות החינוך הממלכתי והממלכתי דתי.
מערכת החינוך בישוב מבוססת על ערכי השוויון, עידוד המצוינות והטיפול בכל אוכלוסיות התלמידים, לצד חינוך לערכים. המערכת פועלת תוך שיתוף פעולה בין החינוך הפורמאלי והבלתי פורמאלי, סגלי ההוראה, ההורים והתלמידים.
אגף החינוך והקהילה במועצת שוהם מוביל תכניות רב שנתיות, המשולבות בתכניות משרד החינוך וביעדיה של המועצה. באגף חינוך וקהילה משולבים השירות הפסיכולוגי והמחלקה לשירותים חברתיים והאגף אף מפעיל את תאגיד החינוך לשוהם. כל הגופים הללו מאפשרים לתלמיד ולמשפחה שירותי העשרה, תגבור, אבחון, יעוץ וטיפול מותאם.
המדיניות אותה מוביל אגף החינוך בשיתוף עם הקהילה, היא מיצוי יכולותיו של כל תלמיד ומתן ליווי לתלמידי היישוב, בכל שעות היממה, במסגרת החינוך הפורמלי והמשלים גם יחד.
אגף החינוך מוביל שורה ארוכה של תכניות, המציבות את שוהם בחוד החנית של הרשויות המקומיות בארץ, ומתן מענה כולל, ממצטיינים לחלשים, בכל הרמות במגוון תוכניות:
• "רבדים" – מרכז אזורי למחוננים ולמצטיינים
• "מפתח שוהם" – תכנית אחה"צ למחוננים ולמצטיינים
• מגמות תוכן ייחודיות בתיכון, דגש על מגמות מדעים, כיתת ל"ב למניעת נשירה
• מסגרות לחינוך מיוחד
• טיפוח אקלים חינוכי מיטבי במוסדות החינוך.
תכניות תקשוב ומחשוב בבתי הספר: מחשבים ניידים, מחשב נייד לכל מורה, כיתות חכמות, תכניות פדגוגיות מתוקשבות ועוד.
מערכת החינוך בשוהם זכתה במספר פרסים לאורך השנים, מטעם משרד החינוך הישראלי, וגם בתי הספר ביישוב זכו בפרסי הצטיינות, בהם ביה"ס הממ"ד אבני החושן, ביה"ס התיכון ויהשיבה והאולפנה אורט שלהבת.
מבנה מערכת החינוך בשוהם מביא לידי ביטוי את ריבוי הגוונים החינוכי של היישוב, ואת מגוון האפשרויות העומדות לבחירת התושבים:

4 גנים ממ"ד.
2 גנ"י חינוך מיוחד
2 גני חובה משלבים במסלול "קשת" – לימוד משותף לילדים חילוניים ודתיים
5 חטיבות צעירות – גני לגילאי 5, הפועלים כחלק אינטגרלי מבית הספר, במתחם משותף עם כיתות א'
גן רב-גילאי ברוח החינוך הדמוקרטי.

בכל בתיה"ס מתקיימת תכנית לתלמידים דוברי אנגלית
תלמידים עולים זכאים לשעות סיוע בלימוד השפה העברית – שעות התגבור מוקצות כיום ע"י משרד החינוך .
Shoham has a comprehensive educational system, spanning day care, preschool, and K-12, in both the state-secular and state-religious tracks.
The town’s education system focuses on promoting the values of equality, excellence and service to all student populations, taking a holistic approach that incorporates formal and informal education and actively engages all stakeholders – students, parents and teachers.
Shoham's high school matriculation rate consistently ranks among the highest in the country.
Shoham's educational system is administered by Shoham's Education and Community Division and includes departments for psychological and social services. In addition, it is responsible for running the Shoham Education Corporation. Together, these agencies offer students and their families a wide variety of enrichment, tutoring, assessment and counseling services.
Through these services, provide morning to night in formal and informal educational frameworks, Shoham aims at maximizing the potential of each and every student.
The quantity and quality of programs run by the Education Division position Shoham as a leader among Israeli towns and cities. Here are some examples:
• Comprehensive response to the needs of both gifted and educationally challenged students, through a diverse range of programs: after-school programs for gifted and outstanding students; high school academic tracks with an emphasis on STEM subjects; a special high school track tailored to students with academic challenges, focused on preventing them from dropping out; special education frameworks; and more.
• Cultivating of an ‘optimal educational climate’ in the schools.
• Information and computer technology (ICT) programs in the schools: Laptop classes, a laptop for every teacher, smart classrooms, and ICT-based pedagogical programs, and more.
Over the years the education system in Shoham has won awards on behalf of the Israeli Ministry of Education, as also the schools in town have won awards for excellence, amongst which are included the Avnei Hoshen state-religious high school and the Ort Shalhevet Yeshiva and Ulpana.
The structure of the education system in Shoham expresses the educational diversity in town, and the variety of options the residents may choose from:
26 kindergartens for children aged 3-6, including:
4 state-religious kindergartens
2 special education kindergartens
2 integrated pre-school kindergartens included in the “Keshet” program - secular and religious children joint studies
5 junior divisions - kindergartens for children aged five, operating as an integral part of the school, within a common complex with first graders

4 belonging to the state division, including the “Keshet” program - secular and religious children joint studies. A growing educational program that enables partnership among students, while strengthening and establishing the identity of each student on his home way of life. Two circles are held at each class: A prayer circle for the religious students and encounters with secular students above it. Most studies are conducted as part of a joint class program.

Students who are Olim are entitled to assistance hours for learning Hebrew - currently the supplementing hours are allocated by the Ministry of Education.
